Who We Are

We are Bible-believing people who strive to know, love, and serve God.  Here at Peace United Methodist Church, we believe that we are called to follow the risen Christ, who came to seek and save the lost.  (Luke 19:10)

We are older Christians, still seeking, still renewing our walk of faith while at the same time providing wisdom and counsel to others as we continue our journey. (Eph 4:11-14, Col 1:9-12, Rom 12:2, 1 Pet 2:9, 1 Cor 2:6)

We are New Believers, needing encouragement as we begin our spiritual journey. (John 3:16, 2 Cor 5:17, Eph 2:8-9, Rom 5:8)

We are the Visitor, seeking a new experience, a welcoming place to learn about God, and seeking fellowship with His people. (Acts 2:42, 1 John 1:7, Rev 3:20)

We are the Youth, experiencing the love of Jesus through example, acceptance, and encouragement in a thriving environment. (Romans 15:7, 1 Tim 4:12, Psalm 119:9, 2 Tim 2:22, Jer 29:11)

We are the Child, just getting to know Jesus through example, loving, and teaching hands. Gal 4:19, Matt 19:14, Luke 18:15-17, Prov 22:6)

Purpose * Vision * Journey

The life of our church is guided by these statements:

  • Peace United Methodist Church is a church that believes in Jesus, a church that loves God and people.

  • Our Purpose is to build a Christian community where people become deeply committed to Jesus by knowing, loving and serving God.

  • Our Vision is to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.

Come and live out the two great commandments with us, Matt 22:37-40:  Jesus replied: “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself.  All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”

What We Believe About God

We believe in the one true, holy, and living God, Eternal Spirit, who is Creator, Sovereign, and Preserver of all things visible and invisible. He is infinite in power, wisdom, justice, goodness, and love, and rules with gracious regard for the well-being and salvation of humanity, to the glory of his name. We believe the one God reveals himself as the Trinity: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, distinct but inseparable, eternally one in essence and power.

What We Believe About Jesus Christ

We believe in Jesus Christ, truly God and truly man, in whom the divine and human natures are perfectly and inseparably united. He is the eternal Word made flesh, the only begotten Son of the Father, born of the Virgin Mary by the power of the Holy Spirit. As a ministering Servant, he lived, suffered, and died on the cross. He was buried, rose from the dead, and ascended into heaven to be with the Father, from whence he shall return. He is the eternal Savior and Mediator, who intercedes for us, and by him, all humanity will be judged.

What We Believe About The Holy Spirit

We believe in the Holy Spirit who proceeds from and is one in being with the Father and the Son. He convinces the world of sin, righteousness, and of judgment. He leads humanity through faithful response to the gospel into the fellowship of the Church. He comforts, sustains, and empowers the faithful and guides them into all truth.

Sharing Our Faith

God’s strategy for changing the world happens one person at a time as each of us comes to know and follow him and receive his saving grace through Jesus Christ. We are called to represent Christ to others by sharing our faith, inviting others, and telling our stories of how God has worked within us.
